Structural Engineer:
Summary of Role
This position is a full-time, structural engineering opportunity. Candidate must work both individually and with the guidance of the lead engineers / principals. Typical projects include the design, analysis and evaluation of both new and existing building structures and range from 1-3 story commercial to large, custom residential projects. Professional experience will be gained in a variety of structural engineering materials. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and detail portions of projects
- Perform structural calculations for entire buildings and specific connections
- Review and interpret technical documents and designs
- Review and evaluate building codes and product specifications to inform designs and analyses
- Correspond directly with clients, design professionals and contractors
- Plan and coordinate work and schedules with clients and principals
- Perform local field visits to document and evaluate existing conditions and ongoing construction
- Develop technical reports and project correspondence
- Attend and participate in meetings with clients and other design professionals
Qualifications
- BSCE or MSCE with focus in structures. MSCE preferred.
- 3-5+ years of experience required
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to adapt to different project types and tasks on a daily basis
- Able to perform physical field work, including climbing ladders, performing visual observations from afar/rooftops/scaffolding/confined spaces
Structural Drafting & BIM Technician:
Summary of Role
This position is a full-time drafting and structural BIM development opportunity. Candidate must work both individually and with the guidance of the lead engineers / principals. Typical projects include new and existing building structures that range from 1-3 story commercial to large, custom residential projects. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop foundation and framing plans for new buildings along with modifications/additions
- Develop wall sections and details defining each project construction conditions
- Accurately estimate time required for assigned tasks
- File management – electronic and paper
- Prepare complete and concise design and construction drawings to include coordination of details and dimensions
- Ongoing review and checking of the documents for accuracy and completeness
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Associate’s Degree preferred; Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of structural CAD drafting and detailing experience
- 1+ year Revit modeling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with CAD and Revit, with emphasis in Revit
Structural Constructive Administrative Assistant:
Summary of Role
This position is a full or part-time position. Candidate must be willing to travel to job sites to observe in-progress construction and document findings in reports for projects in and around the Charleston, SC area. - Development of construction observation reports to be reviewed by engineer / pricinpal
- Identify issues or discrepancies between construction and design drawings
- File management, both electronic and paper
- Communication between engineer and contractor
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Associate’s Degree preferred; Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology or Construction Management
- 5+ years of construction management in commercial or high-end residential projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
